Highlights from the world-famous satirical parenting blog
The year was 2010. Parenting blogs had taken over the world, turning regular, talentless people with a modicum of relatability into billionaires. So when my first son was born, I said to myself, “This daddy wants in.”
And so I started a blog meant to showcase my incredible humour writing while satirising the world of parenting, especially parent blogging. Unfortunately, the site was too weird for the parenting people and too parent-y for the humour people. Five years and hundreds of posts later, having alienated any and all potential audiences, I gave up.
But I had a great time. And there were definitely some high points. Daddy’s Little Miracle was chosen to join The New York Times‘ parenting section’s blogroll. Companies sent me products to review, including a car. I interviewed the Yellow Wiggle. Some friends created fake daddy personas to write guest posts. And I created fake accounts on social media to troll DLM’s accounts.
